WAIT! CHECK THIS MUST-HAVE LIST BEFORE BUYING A NEW PHONE.

So, it's that time of the year again, when the google have finally revealed there Android 9.0 (Android P) beta.

And for the first time ever Google has rolled out Android 9 update on pixel devices as well as non-pixel devices including Xiaomi, Nokia, OnePlus, Sony, Oppo, Vivo and the Essential Phone.

But this is some sure thing that Android 9 is not the only thing you will consider when buying a new phone because,
Let's face it, Android versions are super cool and minimalist now but they are nothing if you have no good hardware to run them.

So this blog is here to show you how to buy a new phone like a pro in 2018.

So without further ADO let's get started,

1. Processor

This is one of the most (if not the most) important thing when buying a new phone that you should consider.

Processor is an important piece of hardware in your phone that decides how much information it can process at a single point in time according to its capabilities.

Nowadays according to the misleading trend, more people are focusing on the RAM of the phone rather than the processor but trust me processor is much much more important than RAM.

It is the processor which decides how much information the RAM can process.

For example, if you have a 32 bit processor your phone is limited by 4 gigs of RAM at most so even if you have 8 GB of RAM in your phone it will not have any effect because your processor is limited by only 4 GB of memory it can address.

Simple Words? Processors are not something to be ignored.

Ok but which processor will be enough for 2018?

Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 series are really good.

I won't specifically talk about the MediaTek processors that are mostly found in Samsung phones or the older Lenovo phones because the reason is not that I don't know about those processors but the main reason is that, 

I don't recommend using them.

I had previous experience with Lenovo as well as Samsung phones and they are not that much good for many day to day works as compared to Qualcomm Processors,

I also had a very bad experience on playing games on the MediaTek processors.

But if you like MediaTek Processors, go on! May the Google Gods help you!

2. RAM

RAM is an important piece of hardware to  consider when you are buying a new phone in 2018 because nowadays 2 GB of RAM is enough anymore! (Sorry for your "Gaming phone from 2015"!)

Also if you are a heavy gamer, processor as well as RAM are the two things that play big roles also along with the battery life which we will discuss later in the blog post.

So what amount of of RAM is good in 2018?

Go for at least 4 GB RAM. If possible get a phone with 6 GB of RAM (though, it might not be a budget smartphone but will surely make your phone survive for next 3 years.

Motorola Moto G6 Plus and Asus zenfone Max Pro M1 are some of the great choices that you can consider.

3. Internal Storage

This is a great thing to consider too specially when most of the phone companies are removing external SD card slot or are making them on exchange of another sim card slot which is not a very good thing specially in third world countries.

So, a good amount of storage is always a best thing even if you are a gamer or multi-tasker or song junkie or a simple Businessman who want to do his business while retaining all his files on the phone and not on the cloud storage.

So if you are going to buy a new phone in 2018 go for at least 64 GB of internal storage well it would be recommended if you go for 128 GB of storage, 64GB is still enough for normal tasks to medium gaming.

Smartphones such as Motorola Moto G6, G6 Plus, Asus zenfone Max Pro M1 and Xiaomi Mix 2 and also Nokia 6.1 4 GB RAM variant are among my personal best choices.

4. Battery Life

There is a reason why the battery life is on the 4th number on the list.

However the battery life is important, it is not that important in 2018 because most of the phones have a good battery inbuilt so you don't need to care about it as if you have good specs on every other end you have good battery life as well.

It's mutual, you know!

But for the sake of this informative blog, recommended amount of battery that you should have in 2018 is at least more than 3500 MaH. 

Would be better if you have more than that.

5. Camera

Who doesn't like cameras specially when you can capture 4K Videos directly from your 'budget smartphone'?

And the future is now here, even the Budget smartphones now offer 4K video recording.

So what is the recommended camera configuration that matches up with the upcoming trend.

The first advice would be to not settle for less than two cameras at the rear position.

The second advice would be to get a phone with at least 1080p FHD video capture @ 60fps (if not 4k video Capture).

Also, get a phone having Portrait Mode/Bokeh Mode, Slow-Motion video capture and Wide-angle selfie.

About the camera specs, any statement would not be a preferred one as it depends on aperture for most of the times.

6. Android Version

Last but not the least, this is still something to check out when you are buying a phone in that part of year when a new OS version is going to go online while even the older one is not even on 2% of the devices! (That was a taunt for Google!)

Yes, although Android 9 is rolling out in no-time, only about 1.2% of all android devices have Android 8.0 (Oreo) installed in them.

So even if you are buying a device that might not get Android 9 update, don't freak out!

Android 8 is still going to lead for the next 2 years.

But as most of the device manufacturers are rolling out Android 8 in their device models out of the box, it might be a possibility that a new phone gets the update.

Some of the budget phones getting Android 9 updates are, Moto G6 series, Nokia 6 & 6.1, Xiaomi 5X, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, and all the other phone that are released no more than a year back and are under the 'Android One Program'.

Although, Android 9 is recommended, Android 8 will do the job pretty well either.
