SMARTISAN R1: THE OVERPOWERED PHONE WE DON'T NEED YET!

Smartisan just launched a Phone this week.

But this isn't the only special thing in this case!

This phone launched by Smartisan known as the R1 model comes in 4 different variants.

But this is common with most of those phones, so what's new?

The New thing is that one variant of this phone has so much internal storage with it, that even thinking of MicroSD card will be a stupidity!

So without further ADO, let's take a look at it.

Smartisan R1-The real deal

This phone comes in 4 different variants;

• 6 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM
• 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM
• 8 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM

and...

• 8 GB RAM + 1 TB ROM!

Yes! You saw that right (it's not a typo)!

The last model of this China-Based phone has 1 TB Internal storage!

With this much storage, you can shoot up to 4.69 days full of 1080p Video and up to 2.40 days full of 4K video! (as stated on the official website).

But looking from a normal user's point of view, this is really something huge!

It's not even the end, It has a 6.17-inch pressure sensitive display with a 2242 x 1080 resolution and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio.

It is covered with Gorilla Glass 3, has a 1500:1 contrast ratio, and a 96% color gamut (DCI-P3).

Now the Processor time! It has a Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at 2.87 GHz paired with an Adreno 630 GPU.

For the Camera Zone, it has dual rear cameras.

The primary camera is a 12MP one (Sony IMX363 sensor) with a f/1.8 aperture.

The secondry camera is a 20MP shooter (Sony IMX350 sensor) with a f/1.75 aperture.

The front camera is a 24MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture and AI real-time beauty mode.

It also supports up to 5 GHz WiFi band also with 4G dual-sim (nano) support and Bluetooth 5.0

It also features an iPhone X like Notch (for those of you who are dying for that!).

And, I hope you won't ask for a MicroSD card slot as then it would not be much more than tyranny.

Price tag is gonna be good just like that, isn't it?

As you might have guessed, the price tag is a real disaster.

I will not display all the variant's prices, but only the first model (6 GB +64 GB) and the last model (8 GB +1 TB).

The first variant has a price tag of nearly $500 while the 1TB storage model has the price of about $1400!!

I can almost hear ya' cringe on that!

The Practical View Point

Although the variants having the price tag of about $700-$800 is considered a flagship phone, which is still popular among masses.

The  1TB storage model of this phone is more than enough.

I mean who needs a phone with 1 TB of storage?

Although, frequent travelers can be a potential target audience for this specific model but other than that, I don't see much normal audience caring about this any more than an 'awe' perspective.

Albeit this 1 TB storage option seems quite useful in scenarios where Internet Connectivity is limited, we are still far behind from the point where it becomes even the slightest necessity.

It is to note that Smartisan still did a pretty good job by taking a step ahead in the smartphone industry.

Unfortunately, this step was too big to take.

It is also not to say that this phone is useless or something like that, but is that this phone is actually far behind the practicality of why we need phones.

However, this phone might be a life saver for those who want to use it as a 'substitute' for PC/Mac. 

But you know, if you have the money to purchase this phone, why not use it to purchase a much better laptop or a pretty powerful PC than?
